Simple Prairie

I have discovered that simple is calming; simple is mellow. This little piece was painted this summer to reflect the simple moments on a simple prairie day.

A Little Prairie

Two little prairie paintings with a calming more mellow feel came into being this summer. I have a love for the prairies that has grown over the years. I never tire of the huge skies and the distant view. Many times the mountains peaking over the horizon is breath-taking. The contrast of the prairies and the mountains is so picturesque!

To purchase these paintings check out my Art Gallery at the top of this blog.

Gentle Lilies

Here is another Mellower Calmer Painting. I actually was surprised how this one turned out. One of my family members loves the calm feeling this one gives so I guess I did achieve what I started out to do and that was to paint some calming more subdued peices. It is supposed to be 2 lilies but she thought it looked like 2 doves. That is the beauty of painting impressionistic with a touch of abstract, from the heart, because it can speak differently to each person. Art is truely emotion!

Shine Like the Dawn

Psalm 37:5,6
Commit your ways to the LORD,

trust in Him and He will do this:

He will make your righteousness

shine like the dawn,

the justice of your cause

like the noon day sun.

I decide to do some Mellow Calm paintings this summer. Usually, I paint in bright colors and sometimes intense themes, so, I have been painting calmer more subdued colors. At least that is the intention but there always seems to be a turn in what I intend to what really happens.
