Spring Time

Spring time has always been my favorite time of year. I must have been anxious for it to get here because I painted this at the end of February shortly after I broke both of my elbows and had to be stuck in the condo like a cage animal. Sometimes it is good to focus on what you are looking forward to. It gets you through a difficult time.

Embracing Life's Ups and Downs

Recently, I tripped on the city sidewalk and broke both of my elbows. My immediate thought was I can't move my arms and how am I going to paint now. You know what your passion is when crisis heights and your first thought is how am going to do what I love. Before the Doc operated on my elbows I asked him when can I paint. He said the next day; right after. It would be great theory. I was relieved. Well, I didn't paint to next day but a couple weeks later I gave it a go. And even though my arms were not working exactly as I wanted it was the best therapy; not only for my arms but for my soul.

"SOR"

Meet "SOR" which means "Sun of Righteousness"
He was created a few months ago and has blessed and inspired us to keep going with the realization that God is the "Sun of Righteousness."

It is a new day!

Every day is new with no mistakes in it, yet. Pulling back the curtain of my day (or your day) may not reveal a beautiful tropical veiw (unless that is where you live or you are on your dream vacation) but each day has beautiful surprises and different points of veiw. On each dawning there are fresh ideas, revelations, concepts and musings that you never thought of before. So, let's see what is new today!

Horizon!

• January is always a reflective, planning, restructuring, evaluating time for me. It is good to reflective on what was going on in my life a year ago and ask those important questions:
• Are things better in my life then they were a year ago?
• Have I grown as an individual, friend, wife, mother, artist, child of God, citizen, and general student of life?
• Have I improved and expanded in creativity, home-making, beauty-care, health, spiritual life, reaching out to others, attitude about others and my effectiveness?
• Then...What is on the Horizon for this coming year?
• What do I need to plan for?
• What do I need to do better?
• How can I acheive what I need to acheive?

I Dreaming of a Tropical Vacation!

We made it through the Christmas holidays and as I sit in 2nd Cup Coffee Shop and watch the snow falling I can't help but dream a bit about a tropical vacation. In stead of the White Christmas Song going through mind... "I am Dreaming of a White Christmas!"

 It goes like... "I'm Dreaming of a Tropical Vacation!"

15 Days Until Christmas...

Christmas is upon us very soon here. I decided to paint something different; a 2 sided painting. On one side is a horse from my "Peek at the West Series" and on the other a scenery picture. Here I have "Tricksy" and "Waterfall" to see more and to purchase CLICK HERE

Portraits

I love painting faces because of love faces. I see each line and shadow. And when I paint I love to captive emotion and feel. I love to see if I can capture their personality and when you look at the portrait you are drawn to it because of what you see. This is one I did of my son Jonathan when he was just a baby. I remember that day I march all 3 children down to Sears for there photo.

Worship Art with my painting called "Freedom"

I started painting while I worshiped in 2005. I believe in telling God how much He means to me and how I love Him. And one day I was writing our a prayer of praise and thanksgiving in my journal which I had done many times. This day I could not focus and my pen kept slipping to side of the page to doodle a little sketch of a tree or whatever. Getting very upset with myself, I pleaded with the Lord to please help me focus on Him. I heard a voice inside my head say, "Welllll....isn't that the way I made you?" I am like...what? "Aren't you creative and didn't I give you that gift for a reason? Then use that to worship me."

So, I did. I set up a canvas and began to paint. I hadn't painted much before. I was very skilled in drawing and illustrating but I hadn't laid much paint on the canvas. But it was wonderful and God began to speak to me in ways that had never happened before.

I still love to paint in this way.


I put on some music and sing with my paint brush. I feel the closest to my LORD Jesus Christ when I do this. He tells me things. It is hard to explain but I heard someone say once that God talks to you how you listen. I always understand concepts better if I have a picture to look at and so I guess that is why this works for me.
